Adrift
Adrift
Adrift is a lino cut print. Hand carved, burnished and printed by me. Using black ink on fine Japanese printing paper.
This is my largest print to date. and also the most detailed.
She is drifting, diffusing, fading away and yet hiding away from what is right in front of us.Whether we are failing to notice the beauty all around us every day, blind to notice the fact that what could save us is right in front of us. Hiding from hard decisions which could save us and our planet. Or hiding from human suffering Surrendering to a destiny we do not want. Going with he flow because its easier than acknowledging the scary things. She’s the embodiment of the million little ways we hide, hide from ourselves, ours fears, our dreams, from lies others tell us,f rom knowing whats best for us, what best for our planet. She’s a representation of that moment we choose to look away. And she’s also a reminder not to.
